He attended Valparaiso University where he was in the Charter Class of the Christ College Honors Program, was in the Charter Class of Mayo Medical School, and completed residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He serves on the Medical Policy Committee for Medical (of Minnesota) and on the Hormone Replacement and Menopause Working Group for the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI). He is a research consultant for Resolution Health.
