Confidence in POCUS Linked to Attitude, Specialty, Age, Practice Volume
Background: Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is a quick examination tool used for rapid diagnostic assessment of multiple organ systems and for procedural guidance. Implementation in Jordan has been challenging due to several factors, including lack of access to equipment, lack of training, and costs of training. This modality remains underused. Objective: To evaluate POCUS knowledge, attitudes, confidence, perceived barriers, enablers, and their associated factors among radiologists and emergency physicians in Jordan. Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire was used to assess sociodemographics, knowledge, attitude, confidence, and barriers and enablers related to POCUS use. Results: 164 physicians participated; 52.4% were radiologists, and 47.6% were emergency physicians. Participants exhibited good knowledge, attitudes, and confidence.
