Native Americans Have Highest Death Rate From ALD
Objective: To explore recent national trends in alcohol-induced liver disease (ALD) mortality. Design: Retrospective cross-sectional study. Methods: Data of patients aged ≥25 years from all 50 states and the District of Columbia from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Prevention Wide Ranging Online Data for Epidemiological Research mortality database, between 1999 and 2022, were analyzed. The primary outcome of the study was the age-adjusted annual mortality rate per 100,000 people broken into different age groups (25 to 44, 45 to 64, 65 to 84, and ≥85 years). Race, ethnicity, and geographic region were also included in the primary outcomes. Data were actually reviewed between September and November of 2024.
