18F-rhPSMA PET/MRI Better Evaluates Prostate Cancer
Background: The determination of the follow-up of patients with prostate cancer, such as maintaining active surveillance or proceeding with focal therapy can be challenging. Improving the ability of imaging studies to help guide these decisions would be very helpful for guiding patient management. Objective: To evaluate the ability of 18 F-rhPSMA PET/MRI to provide accurate assessment of prostate cancer disease burden. Design: Institutional Review Board–approved prospective trial. Participants: 20 males with prostate cancer, confirmed by MRI-guided biopsy between October 2023 and September 2024. These patients had been diagnosed with low-risk or favorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer, as categorized by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines. Methods: Patients were imaged using with both 18 F-rhPSMA-7.3-PET/MRI and multiparametric MRI (mpMRI). A 300 megabecquerel (MBq) 18 F-rhPSMA-7.3 provided by Blue Earth Diagnostics, Inc, was injected IV approximately 60 minutes
